MARSHALL, MI (WTVB0 - A Calhoun County jury Friday issued a not-guilty verdict in the case of Adam Markos who, was charged with the beating death of his girlfriend’s four year old son. The jury announced its decision after less than three hours of deliberation yesterday afternoon.
The prosecution portrayed Markos as frustrated because the boy was not potty trained and they claimed he was the only one who had access to little Dominic Munoz when he was beaten. The defense showed that was not the case and pointed the finger of guilt at the boy’s mother, Lynn Wozniak, painting her as an abusive and uncaring mother.
Markos told WWMT-TV-3 after the verdict that he hopes they go after the right person, but Prosecutor David Gilbert says the case is closed and, they have no plans to charge anyone else.
