DETROIT (WKZO) -- Prosecutors are asking a judge to give former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and contractor Bobby Ferguson nearly 30 years in prison when they are sentenced next Thursday in their federal corruption case.

In a memo filed in court Thursday, the U.S. Attorney's Office recommends Kilpatrick be sentenced to at least 28 years and Ferguson to 14-to-28 years behind bars   In March, Kilpatrick was found guilty of eleven counts and Ferguson was convicted on nine charges.

Kilpatrick's father Bernard was also found guilty of a single tax charge and faces up to two years in prison when he is sentenced October 17th.
