COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Randall Hazelbaker, known across Branch County as Mr. History, joined a select group of honorees of the Coldwater Rotary Club when he was recognized Friday night by the club as a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest award presented annually by the local Rotary club to a member who best exemplifies the organization’s motto of service above self. Hazelbaker, a Coldwater City Councilman and County Commissioner, an author and noted musician, is the 47th club member selected for the award, named for the founder of Rotary International. Hazelbaker is a former club president and has directed two of the annual Rotary variety shows.
The Paul Harris Fellow has $1,000 donated by the club in his name to the Coldwater Rotary Foundation. While other Rotary Clubs allow members to purchase their fellowships, the Coldwater Noon Rotary Club continues its tradition of selecting its Paul Harris recipients on merit and their service to the community.
