BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) - The Great ZooBoo is back at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek. Binder Park Zoo's Kari Parker says that they kicked off the annual Halloween celebration with over a thousand people helping to carve pumpkins this week. Between now and October 27th, the zoo will have special events and some of them are new this year, like Haunted Africa. In the past, it was merry, not scary but for 2013, it’s merry with a little scary.
Haunted Africa is happening in the Wild Africa section, so it’s away from the other part of the festivities so you don’t have to worry about your kids getting into the scarier section of the program. A hayride will be the way to reach Haunted Africa. Parker says that the Haunted displays aren't really intended for kids younger than seven or so. It's six dollars to get into the ZooBoo, and five dollars if you're a member of the zoo.
