UNDATED (WKZO) -- Detroit will be one of the featured subjects on CBS's 60 Minutes this evening.
The TV news magazine will be taking an in-depth look at the largest U.S. city to ever declare bankruptcy, and from the network's description of the story, it will not be a flattering profile.
Veteran reporter Bob Simon says he was stunned by the contrast between the city's booming downtown and its rundown neighborhoods.
Simon told "The Detroit Free Press" that while it was hard to tell that he was in a bankrupt city downtown, that it became evident after just a 5-minute ride into residential areas.
He also notes in his report that Detroit and Somalia's capital city of Mogadishu are the two worst places he's ever visited.
The program will air at 7 p.m. if its not delayed by a sports broadcast.
