COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The City of Coldwater and Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) would like to welcome their new Finance Director/Treasurer, Tom Eldridge. Eldridge is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Western Michigan University. Previously, he was employed by Hi-Lex Controls as a Tax and Consolidation Manager, and prior to that as a CPA for Rumsey & Watkins P.C. (now known as Taylor, Plant & Watkins P.C.). Originally, Eldridge is from the Manistee area but has been a resident of Coldwater for the past 20 years. He and his wife Heather have one son named Hunter, who is in the 7th grade. Additionally, Eldridge is a member of the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary, and was a past Treasurer for the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
“Tom’s previous work experience and involvement within the community make him a perfect fit for our organization,” said City Manager, Jeff Budd.
The City of Coldwater would also like to welcome Scott Jaye as he returns back to the Coldwater Police Department. Officer Jaye earned his Associates degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement from Macomb Community College and is also a graduate from Macomb Police Academy. He is certified in a variety of different subjects pertaining to law enforcement, including: Drug Interdiction, Interview and Interrogation, Search and Seizure, and DARE Instructor. Previously, Jaye has served as an Officer for six years with the Coldwater PD/Melvindale PD, and twelve years with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office. He is originally from Sterling Heights but has resided in Coldwater since 1996.
