ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) - A murder suspect with ties to Michigan wanted for a stabbing death over the weekend in Angola, Indiana has surrendered to authorities. Angola City Police say 41-year old Kenny Fletcher turned himself in around 9 pm Monday night at the Steuben County jail. Fletcher is currently being held on one count of murder, a Class A felony. Fletcher’s address is listed as 408 North Washington Street in Angola. That’s where police say they were called reference to a fight on Saturday night. Upon arrival, officers found 31-year old Wilbur Renshaw lying in the road bleeding. Renshaw was pronounced dead on arrival at Cameron Hospital.
Fletcher was sentenced to 15 to 45 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections for assault with intent to commit murder in 1990 for a crime in Jackson County. His prison discharge date was April of 2011. A news release from Angola Police said among those that assisted in their murder investigation were Michigan State Police, Coldwater City Police and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.
