DETROIT (WKZO) -- Assets in the UAW Chrysler Health Care Trust went up by nearly 1.6-billion dollars last year.
The trust revealed the increase was due in large part to the rising value of its Chrysler holdings. A financial statement released last week showed 900-million dollars of the Healthcare Trust increase was directly related to the rising value of Chrysler.
The automaker earlier this year filed the paperwork for an Initial Public Offering of stock and CEO Sergio Marchionne and the leaders of the trust have been at odds over the value of their stake. There has been no comment on the filing by Chrysler Group representatives or anyone with the healthcare trust concerning the financial statement.
