TRENTON (WKZO) -- A ceremony scheduled for Wednesday for the groundbreaking of a new visitor center at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge in Trenton has been cancelled because of the shutdown of the federal government. U.S. Representative John Dingell announced Monday that the event will be postponed indefinitely while the shutdown continues. Dingell said he is hopeful a resolution will be reached soon and the project can resume without further delay.
