LANSING (WKZO) -- A bill requiring unemployed Michigan residents to pass a drug test to continue to receive unemployment benefits is now headed to the state House. The Senate passed the measure 28-10 Thursday, but it does not make drug testing mandatory for those receiving unemployment benefits. Rather, the bill would eliminate those benefits for anyone who fails a drug test ordered as part of applying for a new job.
