COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The Branch County Out of the Darkness Community Walk saw damp weather Saturday when more than 300 registered walkers turned out at the fundraiser for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at Heritage Park in Coldwater. The three mile walk was the first in Branch County for the AFSP and with only a few months to organize, event chairperson Jennifer Nagel had established a goal of ten thousand dollars for the effort. More than twice that amount was pledged with just over $26,000, 50% of which stays in Branch County.
Donations can still be made through the end of the year. You can go to their Facebook page Branch County Out of the Darkness Community Walk, or contact Jennifer Nagel at firstname.lastname@example.org in addition to calling 517-677-7032. More information about the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention can be found on the web at afsp.org.
