Greg Monroe scores 18 as Pistons top Washington in exhibition play

AUBURN HILLS, MI (WTVB) - The Pistons last night won their next to last preseason game, holding on to beat the Washington Wizards at the Palace 99-to-96. Greg Monroe filled the stat sheet for Detroit with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Kyle Singler scored 14 points, Will Bynum added 13 points and nine assists, and Chauncey Billups chipped in 12 points and six assists.

The Pistons improved to 3-and-4 and wrap up exhibition play tomorrow night at home against Minnesota. The regular season for Detroit starts a week from tonight against the Wizards at the Palace.
