KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) - It may be the worst kept secret in Michigan. Governor Rick Snyder is still playing it coy when it comes to whether he plans to run for a second term, even though he has already run campaign ads touting what he considers the high points of his first term. The Governor will be in Kalamazoo this evening to join in the ten year celebration of a business development park which has helped a number of bio-tech firms get off the ground.
The Governor’s appearance in Kalamazoo will be drawing demonstrators who want him to take a hard look at raising the state’s minimum wage to $10 an hour by 2016. The protest, organized by Michigan United says an increase in the minimum wage would pump another billion dollars into the economy and raise the standard of living for a million Michiganders.
