LIVONIA, MI (WTVB) - Here’s a neat story out of Michigan for you budding entrepreneurs…You just never know. What started as a party for a four-year-old has turned into a multi-million dollar business in Livonia. Seven years ago Holly Bartman was planning a superhero party for her son. She says, though, he didn't want to be any old superhero. He wanted to be his own little man.
Out of her experience customizing the costume for her little one, Holly along with business partner Justin Draplin, launched Superfly Kids, a company that makes and sells custom capes. Since 2010 their revenue has skyrocketed from about $260,000 annually to approximately $2.4 million. They say they expect that figure to double next year.
