ST LOUIS, MO (WTVB) - Week 8 wrapped up last night as the Seahawks defense stopped the Rams on the one-yard line on the last play of the game securing Seattle’s 14-9 win at St. Louis. The Seahawks improved to 7-1 for the first time in franchise history while the Rams dropped to 3-and-5.
The Detroit Lions said yesterday that wide receiver Ryan Broyles suffered a ruptured Achilles in Sunday’s win over the Cowboys. Surgery is scheduled for today and the second year wide receiver out of Oklahoma will miss the remainder of the season. This marks the third straight year that Broyles has gone down with a season-ending injury. The first two he suffered were torn ACLs, one in each knee. The loss of Broyles gives the Lions wide receiving corps very little answers aside from Calvin Johnson, with fellow wideout Nate Burleson still recovering from a broken arm. Kris Durham and Kevin Ogletree will assume the duties behind Johnson.
The Lions are into their bye week and will take a 5-and-3 record into Chicago for their November Tenth game against the Bears.
