DENVER, CO (WTVB) - The 2013 NFL season kicked off last night in Denver where Peyton Manning threw for 462 yards and tied the NFL-record with seven touchdown passes as the Broncos rolled over the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens 49-to-27. The Broncos put up 28 straight points to open the second half en route to the lopsided victory with Baltimore allowing the most points in franchise history. The start of the game was delayed over 30 minutes due to lightning.
The Detroit Lions start their season Sunday at home against the Vikings. Yesterday, Detroit rookie defensive end Ziggy Ansah, the club’s top draft pick and fifth overall selection in the NFL draft, practiced for the first time since suffering a concussion 12 days earlier. Today’s injury report from the Lions will indicate whether Ansah is probable, questionable, or doubtful for the Minnesota game.
