KANSAS CITY, MO (WTVB) - There’s no word yet from the Tigers if Miguel Cabrera will be in the lineup tonight at Kansas City as Detroit opens a 3-game series against the Royals. Cabrera has had 2 days to rest a strained abdominal muscle after staying on the bench during the Tiger’s 20-to-4 loss at Boston Wednesday night. Detroit had the day off yesterday following a stretch where they played 16 days in-a-row.

Also on the day-to-day wait and see list for the Tigers is shortstop Jose Iglesias, who had to come out of Wednesday’s game with shin splints. Central Division leading Detroit heads into the weekend six-and-a-half games up on the second place Indians and 8 games ahead of the third place Royals, who beat the Mariners Thursday afternoon.

Last night, the Chicago White Sox lost at Baltimore while the Cubs had the day off.
