U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Sander Levin (D-MI) speaks during the Reuters Financial Regulation Summit in Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- U.S. Representative Sander Levin comments on President Obama's remarks on Syria.

"The President effectively described why it is in our nation's national security interest to hold Syria accountable for their horrendous use of chemical weapons against their own people," says Levin.

Congressman Levin says that he does not believe that America looks the other way when it comes to crimes against humanity. The nation has, he says, reason to stop the use of chemical weapons, prevent their spread and signal to other nations that we will not look the other way.
