CHICAGO, IL (WTVB) - The Red Wings were blanked 2-to-0 last night in Chicago in Detroit’s second exhibition game following their 4-1 win Monday at Pittsburgh. It was the pre-season opener for the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. Detroit’s Jonas Gustavsson, who’s in line to back up Jimmy Howard this season, stopped 21 of 23 shots in 2 periods. Jared Coreau turned aside all 11 Chicago shots in the third. Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford made 19 saves.

Tomorrow night, the Red Wings are at Boston and then Detroit has its home exhibition opener Saturday night against the Bruins.
