QUINCY, MI (WTVB)- Quincy Police believe it may have been a medical issue that caused a 3-vehicle traffic accident Friday night which left a Reading man dead at the scene of the crash on U.S. 12 east of Brown Street. The fatal victim in the accident was 69-year old Nicholas Scugoza, Jr. An autopsy was ordered.
Police say Scugoza was westbound in his Ford Ranger when he crossed the centerline and struck another pickup driven by 25-year old Robert Walker of Quincy. The impact pushed the Ranger back into the westbound lanes where it was struck by a car driven by a 16-year old girl from Clayton. Walker and his daughter and the car driver were treated and released from the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Police said alcohol did not seem to be a factor in the collision that happened shortly before 8 pm Friday night.
