LANSING, MI (WTVB) - It looks like this fall’s controversial wolf hunt in the U.P. will be a sell-out as far as state licenses are concerned.  They went on sale Saturday and by that evening about a thousand of the 11-hundred available were sold.  That’s the last word we have gotten.  They were available on-line and an update may soon be available. The actual hunt will take place in 7 counties beginning November 15th, but be limited to 43 wolves. Hunters will be required to report daily on whether they killed a wolf and all other hunters will be require to check daily to see if the limit had been reached.  Licenses cost $100 for in-state hunters and $500 for non-residents. The animals only recently came off the endangered species list and petitions are circulating to prevent any future hunts. The bow hunting season for deer in Michigan opens tomorrow.
