DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - The Detroit Tigers swing back into action this afternoon at Comerica Park against the Royals following their season opening 4-3 win over Kansas City on Monday. Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer gets the start for the Tigers while the Royals counter with Jason Vargas, who makes his Kansas City debut after signing with KC last fall following his departure from the Los Angeles Angels.

Detroit is scheduled to host the Royals again tomorrow afternoon to wrap up the 3-game series before Baltimore arrives in Motown for 3 games this weekend. The White Sox and the Cubs both were idle on Tuesday.
