COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Coldwater Board of Public Utilities cable TV fans of offerings like Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and MTV can breathe a bit easier. The threat that Viacom was going to pull the plug on those channels has ended. The Board of Public Utilities announced yesterday afternoon that the National Cable Television Cooperative and Viacom reached an agreement on a renewal to carry Viacom’s media networks for the Coldwater BPU. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Paul Beckhusen, CBPU Director, thanked their customers for their patience and understanding regarding the situation. He said the Viacom negotiations were necessary in order for the BPU to achieve their goal as a cable provider to make available the most desired content at the most affordable price.
Viacom channels were never dropped from CBPU telecommunications during the talks on the renewal with the cable programming firm.
