Down 2-1, Red Wings host Bruins again tonight in NHL first round match-up

DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - It’s nearly a must win tonight for the Red Wings who face off against the Bruins at Joe Louis Arena with Detroit trailing 2-1 and Boston looking for its third straight victory in this Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff series. The Red Wings can’t afford back-to-back home defeats heading into Game 5 Saturday afternoon at Boston. Detroit captain Henrik Zetterberg yesterday was on the ice for his first full practice in months and might possibly play tonight for the first time since leaving the Winter Olympics early to have back surgery.

In minor league hockey, in the ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs, the Kalamazoo Wings lost 2-1 in overtime last night at Greenville with the host Road Warriors taking a 2-1 lead in their best of 7 Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Game 4 is tomorrow night, again in Greenville.
