BUFFALO, NY (WTVB) - The Detroit Lions blanked the Bills 23-0 last night in Buffalo in their final preseason game. Quarterback Dan Orlovsky started for Detroit and finished 7-for-11, passing for 39 yards, while Kellen Moore took over midway through the second quarter and completed 17 of his 28 pass attempts for 178 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions defense combined for four sacks and three interceptions, while kicker Nate Freese was three-for-three on field goals.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, receivers Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate and running back Reggie Bush were among starters who sat out against the Bills.
Detroit finished with a 3-1 exhibition record. The Lions open regular season play on September 8th Monday Night Football at home against the New York Giants.
