Latest marijuana legislation stalled in Lansing

LANSING, MI (WTVB) - A pair of bills concerning medical marijuana use in Michigan that passed with bipartisan support in the House of Representatives are not moving through the Senate.  The bills would make it easier for people to purchase marijuana but Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville who chairs the Senate Government Operations committee is holding the legislation back.

One of the measures would permit the manufacture and sale of items made with pot including brownies and oils.  The second bill would have local communities decide whether they would allow medical marijuana medical dispensaries.  Richardville says he is concerned with the dispensary bill and wants strict rules on distribution of the drug.
