EAST RUTHERFORD , NJ (WTVB) - The Seattle Seahawks are celebrating their first title after their total domination of the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl 48 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  Seattle jumped out to a 22-0 halftime lead and never looked back. The Seahawks defense forced Payton Manning into two interceptions and a fumble while Denver turned it over a total of four times. Percy Harvin took the opening kickoff of the second half and outran the Broncos 87 yards for a Seattle touchdown.  Malcolm Smith intercepted Manning in the second quarter and returned it 69 yards for a score to help Seattle pull away and was named MVP following the game.

This contest pitted the NFL's top defense against the highest-scoring offense in league history, and the defense was the clear winner: Seattle 43 Denver 8 in Super Bowl 48. Next year, Super Bowl 49 will be played in Glendale, Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
