COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - After spending part of the first weekend of February with near normal temperatures in Branch County, the average high is 31, the average low 17, it didn’t take long to have Coldwater record its first sub-zero reading of the month. The official low temperature was five below zero today. Last month, there were 11 days with sub-zero readings. It’s forecast to stay unseasonably cold the rest of the week with another hit of below zero readings expected Friday morning. But by then, folks may be talking more about more snow than the latest arctic blast.
Branch County will be under a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday at 1 pm until Wednesday at 1 pm with the possibility of heavy snow along with gusty north winds causing blowing and drifting snow.
