MADISON, WI (WTVB) - 9th-ranked Michigan State saw a late comeback spoiled yesterday at Wisconsin as the Badgers stopped the Spartans  60-58 at Madison. Traevon Jackson's pull-up jumper with less than 3 seconds remaining sealed the win for Wisconsin. The Badgers led 58-53 with thirty seconds remaining when the Spartans' Gary Harris canned a deep two out of a timeout and  Adreian Payne looked to send the game into overtime when his triple from the top of the key tied the score at 58, setting the stage for Jackson’s heroics for the Badgers.

Payne had a game high 24 points for Michigan State, which slipped to 20-4 overall and 9-2 in the Big Ten, which leaves MSU tied with Michigan for the conference lead. The Spartans’ next game is Thursday at home against Northwestern. Tomorrow night, Michigan plays at Ohio  State.
