WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) -- U.S. Representative Gary Peters has introduced legislation for the funding of customs plazas, which could open the way for construction to begin on a proposed new bridge between Detroit and Windsor. The measure would authorize funding of the construction of the plazas at border crossings, and while it does not name the new bridge over the Detroit River, priority would be given to locations with the highest volume of trade. The crossing between Detroit and Windsor is considered the busiest in North America.
