CHATTANOOGA, TN (WTVB) - The UAW got some love, but not enough on Valentines Day from the Autoworkers at a Chattanooga, Tennessee Volkswagen plant, who turned down union representation. Detroit analyst John McElroy says its another major blow to the United Auto Workers Union. An official overseeing the vote which ended last night said a majority voted 712 to 626 against UAW representation.  Feirce and dirty campaigns were waged by both sides, including an announcement by Republican U.S. Senator Bob Corker during the voting that VW would announce new investment in the plant if the union lost.
