Snowstorm claims more high school games Monday, Bronson girls beat Colon

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports, most of the boys and girls basketball last night was called off because of the latest snow storm including Coldwater vs. Harper Creek with those makeup games rescheduled again for tomorrow night at the same place and times with the boys at Coldwater and the girls at Harper Creek. There was at least one county team that did play last night as the Bronson Lady Vikings picked up a 53-29 non-conference win at home over Colon. The first half ended with Bronson ahead 27-9 and they stayed well in control the rest of the way. Liz Baker had a game-high 15 points to help Bronson improve their record to 10-6.

Tonight in high school sports, in varsity basketball, in boys action, it’s Bronson at Buchanan while on the girls side, Quincy hosts Concord and Union City is at home against Homer. In reserve boys basketball, Coldwater hosts Battle Creek Central in make-up contests from January 16th. The freshman game tips off at 4:15 followed by the junior varsity at around 5:45.  And in boys and girls varsity and j-v bowling this afternoon, it’s Coldwater in the Southwest 8 finals at the AMF Sturgis Lanes.

Today on the Coaches Corner, it’s Quincy boys basketball coach Scott Rodesiler.
