COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - A weird weather week indeed with the temperature in Coldwater at 42 degrees at one o’clock this morning. It hasn’t been that mild in Branch County since January 13th when it hit 44 degrees. It meant motorists Tuesday were having to re-learn about safe driving around or through large puddles of water rather than plowing into big snow drifts.
The weirdness actually began Monday night when some parts of Michigan experienced “thundersnow”. That’s right….bright lightning during a snow storm. There will be above normal temperatures and more melting today, and tomorrow, we could see a high near 50 with rain and possible a few strong thunderstorms, just before the temperatures plunge back below freezing in time for the weekend and to ice everything over for Friday morning’s commute.
