DETROIT (WKZO) -- A made-in Detroit documentary that focuses on the lives of area Muslims debuts on HBO Monday evening. "The Education of Mohammed Hussein" chronicles the lives of young Muslim students in Dearborn facing discrimination in a post 9-11 world.
The film also covers visits to the area by Quran-burning Florida pastor Terry Jones and the tension created by those visits. Additionally there is footage from an interfaith rally with local religious leaders voicing a need for tolerance.
The film is the product of Michigan producers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady who gained widespread acclaim for their documentary "Detropia."
