LANSING (WKZO) -- State Health officials are renewing their plea to Michiganders to get a flu shot. They say the death toll is now up to six adults and one infant, but because there is no reporting requirement for deaths from the flu, that number may be higher. '

The State’s Chief Medical Executive, Dr. Matthew Davis says 90% of the cases they are seeing are the 2009 H1N1 swine flu virus that caused a pandemic back then.

He says it’s coming on stronger and faster this year.

He says the shots are available at pharmacies, doctors offices, clinics and other locations, and it’s never too late to get one.

Dr. Davis says the young and middle aged, two groups that are usually the most resistant to the flu are the most vulnerable to this bug.
