TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) - The suspect in the holdup last June at the Southern Michigan Bank and Trust branch in Tekonsha was back before a judge this week. Dennis Love of South Bend has been indicted in federal court for allegedly holding up several banks in South West Michigan.
Bank employees at the PNC bank in Martin spotted the 59-year-old acting suspiciously outside the bank on two separate days. They even saw him try on a mask. They locked him out both times and the second time he was arrested by police for carrying a concealed weapon. Further investigation linked him to bank robberies in Oshtemo, in Tekonsha, Berrien Springs and a bank heist in Indiana. Federal officials say he admitted he purposely picked banks in small towns.
