BRONSON, MI (WTVB) - It’s the third house fire in two days in Branch County, a Noble Township blaze Thursday afternoon that gutted a 2-story farm house on Bawden Road. The family that lives in the home wasn’t there when the alarm was turned in around 4 pm by a passerby. Randall and Lisa Akins’ dog and cat perished in the fire and they didn’t have renters insurance, losing all of their belongings.
Anyone wishing to donate money, clothes, furniture or other household items for the Akins and their two young daughters, ages 5 and 3-months old, should give a call to Lisa’s mother and father, Deb and Ken Klavinski. It was an electrical fire. The Bronson fire department was assisted by firefighters from Lakeland, Burr Oak and Orland. The total loss was estimated at $60,000 to the structure and $30,000 to the contents.
