COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The Coldwater City Council meets in regular session for the first time in 2014 on Monday, and among the items up for discussion is an update on the redevelopment of the Kerr Building downtown. Plans for the building will not include the proposed Coldwater Ale House microbrewery and restaurant. In an announcement posted to Facebook on Friday, General Manager Derek Bercaw stated that the effort to raise the monies to get the business started up fell short. Bercaw said that he would continue to work for Mason's BAD Brewing Company while working on another way to open a brewery in Coldwater.
City Council will also hear an update from DMS Director Dave Sattler on the city's effort to dig out from last weekend's winter storm. In his report to Council, City Manager Jeff Budd singled out DMS and BPU employees on their efforts throughout the week to plow and remove the snow from the streets and downtown parking lots; he also thanked city residents for their cooperation in staying off the streets as much as possible during the cleanup.
