ELKHART, IN (WTVB) - Indiana State Police say an employee, a shopper, and a gunman are dead after a shooting last night at a supermarket in Elkhart. Authorities say they received calls around 10:00 p.m. that there was a man with a gun at the Martin's supermarket in Elkhart. Two officers rushed to the scene and found the gunman pointing a handgun at the store manager’s head. Investigators say the officers opened fire and struck the shooter, a 22-year old man who lived in the area. The two female victims, a 21-year old Martin’s employee and a 44-year old shopper, were found about 15 aisles apart.
No names have yet been released and police have not given any information about a possible motive for the incident.
