COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Branch County Road Commission manager Trent Arver today taking a pre-emptive approach in getting the word out on what to expect from his staff and road crews considering the weather forecast for this coming weekend. Wind speeds are expected to be sustained above 20 mph with gusts reaching up to 40 mph. Arver advises that road conditions will be hazardous with drifting snow and road crews will not be able to keep up with roads blowing shut. He also suggests that with dangerously low wind chills to please stay off the roads because in order for crews to do their work all roads need to be clear of stuck or stranded vehicles.
According to Arver, the expectation should be that you may get stuck in a snow bank on secondary roads if you’re traveling tomorrow. Roads Saturday will likely blow shut with snow within 2 hours of being plowed. Please get your needed supplies for the weekend today, says Arver, concluding that the road commission will continue to keep the roads as safe as they can with the challenging weather.
