QUINCY, MI (WTVB) - The 52nd Annual Quincy Chain of Lakes Tip-Up Festival kicks off today at Tip-Up Island, and unlike some of the past few years, there's plenty of ice on Marble Lake and lots of snow. The big question: will it finally be "cold enough" for the Polar Bear Splash scheduled for 12 noon? That all remains to be seen as the winter weather advisory continues until 4 this afternoon. The Fisherman's Ball scheduled for tonight will at least be under the shelter of the pavilion on the island. A complete festival schedule is available at http://quincytipup.com/
The Coldwater Downtown Business Association's Icefest is also scheduled for today, featuring a pair of live demonstrations from ice carver Randy Finch, a chili cook-off, and a yarn bombing sponsored by Arts Alive.
