QUINCY, MI (WTVB) - It was one of those traffic accidents where the wreckage made it look like no one could have survived the crash, a pickup basically wrapped around a tree in Branch County’s Algansee Township at the intersection of Central and Ferguson Roads. Someone called 9-1-1 Dispatch to report it around 4:30 am Tuesday. However, authorities initially weren’t able to find the driver, thinking he or she might have been ejected from the truck.
Based on the registration in the vehicle, State Police had a Hillsdale County Deputy go to a residence and they located the suspected driver there. The woman had a head injury and was taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County for treatment. Authorities say a warrant will be sought for her arrest, including an expected charge of drunk driving. The Quincy Fire Department responded to the scene as did Life Care Ambulance.
