LANSING< MI (WTVB) - US Senate Candiate Terri Lynn Land says there is nothing illegal about the three-million dollar campaign contribution she made to her own campaign. Authorities say that on federally filed forms, Land failed to disclose the account from which that money was withdrawn. It is a joint checking account she shares with her husband. Land insists the error was a simple oversight, but opponents say there are limits on how much a spouse may contribute to a campaign, and Land failed to disclose that such an account existed.
Democrats have insisted she stop spending that money until there is a determination on whether it’s an illegal contribution.
