CLEVELAND, OH - The Big Ten doesn't conduct a preseason football media poll anymore, but the Cleveland Plain Dealer has picked up the baton and released its fourth annual preseason poll yesterday, and in the new Big Ten Eastern Division, Ohio State was the consensus selection, nabbing 23 first-place votes and 195 points. Last season's Big Ten champion, Michigan State, was picked to be runner-up in the East, receiving the other 10 first place votes and 180 points overall, while Michigan was selected a distant third, with 110 points. Wisconsin was the media pick to win the Big Ten West, narrowly edging Iowa.
