UNDATED (WTVB) - Gas prices in Michigan are up for the second week in a row, and bucking the predictions that they would go down or at least stay level after Memorial Day. AAA Michigan is reporting a rise of 8 cents in the last week, to over $3.92 cents a gallon or eleven cents more per gallon than this time last year. The report also says that only three states in the U.S, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky, saw gas prices rise in the last week.
Gas Buddy’s Patrick Dehaan says severe weather in the south partially shut down a Marathon refinery in Louisiana. They own the Speedway stations and they were first to raise prices last Thursday. He says it could be worse, in Ohio pump prices jumped to over $4.00 a gallon.
