Quincy faces defending state champion in girls soccer regional action this afternoon

KALAMAZIOO, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports, the Quincy Orioles girls soccer team plays an MHSAA Division Four Regional semifinal match today against Grandville Calvin Christian at 4:30 p.m. at Kalamazoo College. Quincy won their first district title in four years on Saturday by beating Jonesville 4-2 in the championship game of last week’s district hosted by the Orioles.

Quincy is the decided underdog against 2nd ranked Calvin Christian, the two time defending state champion. In the other regional semifinal, it’s Kalamazoo Christian vs. St. Joseph Lake Michigan Catholic. The Regional final is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday. 

In another regional semifinal match today, in Division 3, Marshall takes on Williamston at 5 p.m. at Spring Arbor.
