STATE COLLEGE, PA (WTVB) - Penn State athletic director David Joyner is resigning. The school announced that he has requested an August 1st date to retire. Joyner took over in the midst of the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse case. He was on the Penn State board of trustees when he took charge of the department as acting athletic director in November 2011. Joyner became full-time AD in January 2013.
