PINEHURST, NC (WTVB) The U.S. Women's Open begins today with most of the talk at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina surrounding 11-year-old Lucy Li, who made history last month by becoming the youngest to ever qualify for the championship. She’s a sixth-grader from Redwood Shores in the Bay Area of California. This year marks the first time the men's and women's U.S. Opens are being played on the same course in the same year. Germany’s Martin Kaymer captured his second major championship on Sunday by eight shots at Pinehurst No. 2.
