Andy Brown is being held without bond.

CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) - After taking two days to seat a jury, the Andy Brown murder trial has gotten off to a fast start in St Joseph County Circuit Court.  Prosecutor John McDonough outlined in opening arguments that the victim and suspect had had a confrontation the day before David Locey’s body was found, that Brown had embezzeled $100,000 from the accounts of his clients, and that he planned to meet with those clients the day he was found dead. McDonough also told jurors that gunshot residue had been found all over Brown’s suit and vest.

Defense Attorney Michael Hills revealed that a bloody footprint had been found next to the body that didn’t match the suspects or anyone in the firm.

Testimony began Thursday with the staff member who found the body.  More witnesses will be called today.
