BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB)- The driver in a bizarre, truck/pedestrian incident that left a man in his late 50’s dead along M-66 has come forward. Battle Creek Police say witnesses told them the victim may have fallen or jumped from the East Columbia Bridge and was struck by the southbound truck before he hit the ground. For some reason, the driver did not stick around. Battle Creek police responded to a report of a man lying on the side of the road late Saturday night. They also found broken pieces from the front end of a Dodge or Chrysler made truck, and were using them to try and track the driver.
Police say they don’t plan to charge the truck driver.
